Bleed Out
What is history if not a fable agreed upon – Napoleon
If I should get caught in the crossfire
before finishing this poem Will you
dovetail our voices together
If I should bleed out before
topping off please keep the truth
we carried into the war that threatens
to silence the words we use to shorten
the distance between us
